The AI Summit New York 2025 — Where AI Commercialization Discussions Uncovered Creative Human Led Strategies will be the Way of the Future

The 10th Anniversary of the NYC AI Summit marked a clear turning point. What began as a forum for experimentation has evolved into a platform focused on AI commercialization— which showcased organizations that translate AI capability into scalable products, services, and market share.

The summit featured multiple discussion stages covering a wide range of industries including a platform for AI startups. While each offered valuable perspectives, the stage that stood out most to us was the one focused on creative industries. As a company deeply engaged in developing diverse generative AI solutions across creative and business sectors, the discussion at the creative industries stage felt especially more relevant since we were able to pick some special insights that's unfolding in the industry.

What became evident is that the creative economy is entering a period of transformative changes.

We learned that large, established large film production and entertainment companies were in somewhat competition with emerging, AI-native creative studios. Rather than a clear emphasis on partnership or cocreation, the current moment feels more like one of positioning ahead of the others. While established players continue to bring scale, capital, and infrastructure, while smaller studios and independent creators are increasingly able to build their own audiences, offerings, and revenue streams—often through direct distribution channels such as YouTube and other creator-led platforms.

Audience behavior is also shifting, particularly among Gen Z. Discovery, engagement, and loyalty are evolving in ways that challenge traditional distribution and subscription models. At the same time, new micro-markets are forming, allowing smaller creative entities to capture and sustain their own market share alongside legacy organizations. AI is accelerating this shift by reducing barriers to entry and compressing production cycles.

One aspect I appreciated was that the discussion largely moved beyond the simplistic “human vs AI” framing. In real-world creation, that distinction misses the point. since at this time at least, creation remains human-led. The more meaningful question—and the one explored thoughtfully—was who can use AI most creatively, strategically, and commercially successful to remain ahead of the curve.

Visiting the exhibition floor revealed another signal of potential market maturity. Many exhibitors were offering variations of infrastructure, compute, data services, or application acceleration platforms. While each had its nuances, the overlap suggested an ecosystem moving toward convergence. As this happens, differentiation would most likely come from highly unique applications, experience design, special use cases that solve problems for the mass market with clarity and high value—not just the underlying AI tools, models or and infrastructure alone.

Looking ahead, this moment feels like a transitional phase. As the market stabilizes, deeper collaboration between large organizations, creative studios, and independent operators will hopefully emerge more. For now, many players are understandably focused on defining their own positioning in a rapidly evolving landscape.

For small businesses who want to leverage the creative powers of generative ai, this is still a meaningful window to engage. While wide ranges of AI tools remain accessible, however; competition and compute costs are rising. Those who build distinctive use cases, understand their audiences, and apply AI with intention—not imitation—will be better positioned as commercialization continues to accelerate.

The summit offered a clear signal: the next phase of AI will be shaped by those who specially understand both creative value and commercial execution and human centered designs for the coming decade.
