The 21st architects ወርሃዊ (monthly) session was held on Thursday, June 04, 2020
We had the opportunity to partner with Association of Ethiopian Architects to prepare a dynamic virtual discussion on the topic of 'Advancing Architecture with manufacturing technologies.'
Founder of Marta Ali Studios highlighted subtractive and additive manufacturing technologies that can help the Architecture industry to speed up design innovation, mass customization , and fabricate building materials while reducing cost . Also discussed the possibilities of expanding the architects role to manufacturing so that the profession can grow beyond its current limits and play a more prominent role in the building industry supply chain. The host of the session, Brook Tefera, also potential growth areas in the Ethiopian Architecture context. Monthly session kicked of by Amanuel Teshome, chairman of AEA, by providing greetings to the Architecture community and reminding us to stay safe & positive during this challenging times while focusing on skill development.
