The first Africa Fest celebration will take place in Alexandria on September 8, 2018. The Office of the Arts, the Alexandria Commission for the Arts, the African Union Mission to the United States, the Pan African Diaspora Women Association and Representatives of various African Countries met to plan the event which will open with remarks from City Officials and African dignitaries then will proceed with  festivities that will participate several African nations symbolizing unity, pride and sharing the wisdom of the nation to the greater DC.MD.V.A region.

“Everyone should attend,” said Dr. Arikana Chihombori Quao, African Union ambassador to the U.S. “In the words of Kwame Nkrumah [the first president of independent Ghana] ‘You are not African because you were born in Africa, you are African because Africa is born in you.’ On behalf of the African diaspora and friends of Africa, I thank the City of Alexandria for joining us in celebrating our Beloved Mother Africa.”

Marta Ali Studios is honored to continue designing the visual communication for related cultural events in Alexandria for the past 3 years. Hope you can join us for  the festivities. Learn more about the Event here
